This page provides additional practice and advanced discussion for the letters you should have learned in Hebrew for Dummies - Lesson 7. If you need practice saying or reading the letters - go back to lesson 7 first.

ך and ח at the end of a word

ח at the end of a word, after a vav, can take a vowel sound that is sounded before the consonant letter:

רוח - Wind is sounded Roo' Akh

לוח - Blackboard is sounded  Loo akh.

ך Khaf at the end of a word can take a vowel sound that is sounded after the consonant letter:

לך - To you is sounded Leh khah'

Of course, the differences are due to different placement of vowels.
