Dear Fred Nover (and others who get the mail from Marriott),
The mail from Marriott is marked "confidential" and for personal use only. We all got these letters.
The statement about how the problem was resolved was meant to be private obviously and should not appear in any Web site and therefore I have deleted that part of the communication. The rest is posted at your own risk. I am sure that your copy of the message stated that it is private as well.
I want to be fair and careful about this. Other private information that we have indicates that the claims of Marriott are not consistent with the actual situation, and that there is no such satisfactory solution has we claimed by Marriott. When I am more sure of the facts, and sure I can make this information public, I will.

Please note Marriott's response. Based on this I think that there acted in the bast interest of the Israelis.

not have taken this action if the news report had not specifically
mentioned our hotel by name.
Marriott International, Inc., the manager of the Cairo Marriott Hotel,
globally practices a policy of zero-tolerance of discrimination on the
basis of (among other factors) race, religion or ethnicity. Our hotels
are open and available to groups and individuals of all racial, ethnic
and religious backgrounds and affiliations on an equal basis and without
prejudice.
We remain committed to providing all our guests with a superior hotel
travel experience.
