The Palestinian and Arab Terror Record and what it proves

Various theories have been advanced about Palestinian terror. The most popular and false one is popular among those grew up after 1967, and who insist that Palestinian terror, and indeed the entire Arab-Israeli conflict, is due only to the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza, and will vanish following Israeli withdrawal. Of course, Israel withdrew from Gaza, but the rain of Qassam rockets that followed, and the election of the extremist Hamas movement, have not deterred the supporters of this theory.

The fact is that Palestinian Arab terror against Jews began in the 1920s, and expressed itself in riots in 1921, in the Riots and Massacres of 1929 including the Hebron Massacre, and the the Arab Revolt of 1936-9 as well as numerous minor incidents that turned terror into a way of life beginning in 1929 and continuing until present time.

Statistics show an unbroken record of terror victims, before the formation of the state of Israel, between 1948 and 1967, and after 1967, up to and including the Qassam rockets aimed at Sderot and other towns.† †

It is true that over the years Israel has killed many more Palestinian Arabs, but the percentage of non-combatants killed by Israel has generally been much lower. Palestinian terror has almost always been aimed at civilian targets.

These pages tabulate the statistics and the record of incidents.
